  • This is a spiny cell, with essentially no axon (the axon exits the soma and is immediately cutoff at the surface of the slice). The final consensus failed to capture only four short segments, and more importantly there were zero false positives. This is the most impressive consensus so far. Below is an image of the overlay with consensus in green and gold standard in red. Because they agree so closely, you may find it difficult to see the consensus in some places. The reasons I think this consensus was so successful are excellent signal-to-noise in the images (which can be seen in the MIP below-right), and no axon present.

  • Consensus length: 55145 (75%) Gold Standard length: 72697 The dendrites are excellent. There is some false positive, likely due to a nearby patch attempt. As in the other cases, the majority of missed signal is faint axon. This would also be another good starting point for us.

  • Consensus length – 87532px (136%) Gold standard length – 64286px Our gold standard is dendrite-only for this cell. The dendrites look great! There are only a couple of tiny false-negatives. The axon that was captured in the consensus looks pretty continuous. The scattered false positive would be easily deleted if this were used as a starting point by us.

  • Consensus length – 54800px (79%) Gold standard length – 69170px Another excellent reconstruction! All the dendrites were accurate, except for two missed tips. The missed axon was mostly faint.
