In today’s “watch this!”, check out this video demonstrating what it looks like to scroll through a neuron using a Vaa3D (short for ?3D Visualization-Assisted Analysis?) compatible version of Mozak.

Enjoy!

Our public site has launched (sort of), but if you want to share the goodness of Mozak going forward, we’re offering everyone a chance to signup before public beta starts.

Now you’re already here (and you don’t need to sign up again, you’re good). But why would other people want to sign up ahead of public beta? Here are some reasons you can share:
* Possible early access! You never know when we’re going to let in some waves to test certain browsers, levels of experience, etc. It could be you in that wave!
* First dibs on preferred usernames
* Shiny perks such as a (very likely) jump start before we open the gates to everyone! This is pretty much getting in on the near ground floor of the next biggest citizen science thing. Or you can just follow the project on Twitter and Facebook and wait for the general public beta unlocking. Who really wants to be that patient, though?

Let everyone know that all brains are welcome! No neuroscience experience necessary!

On behalf of the team, I’d like to welcome you to the Mozak Friends and Family beta!

The key to Mozak is synergy - to allow humans to do what they are good at, and computers to do what they are good at. Need help? Click Community to get to the forums and post your question (or just say hi). We’re working on the tools you’ll need to reconstruct a neuron like an expert, and along the way, we need your input on what works and what doesn’t work for you.

For more on the big picture and some background science, explore our science page.

Enjoy! We are so glad you’re here!
