Neurons vs. Noise, a Quick Guide (and welcome)
Posted on Oct 27, 2016 UTC by inkycatz

Welcome Early Access players! We’re so glad you’ve joined us ahead of public beta!

Please give us ALL the feedback you possibly can, and pay attention to your emails for any surveys that might come around.

In the meantime, we have put together some tips and pictures that may help you separate the signal (neuron) from the noise. While we advocate tracing the entire neuron, we also recognize that it may be difficult to express what that means without a tutorial or visual examples.

First of all, let’s look at some pictures of a neuron.

Next, we’ll look at some pictures of what’s considered “noise” in Mozak.

Let’s place them side by side. Here, the green arrow is signal and red arrow is noise.

We hope that helps you out - please feel free to place links to images you may find confusing in the forums, or any questions about what you’re seeing here and we’ll see what we can do as a community to help you out.
